iOS App – Privacy Policy

Objection Privacy Policy

A gamified legal education experience by Landon Rowles

Effective Date: April 1, 2026  |  Last Updated: April 2026

Short Version

Objection does not collect your name, email, location, or any personal information. Your game progress is saved only on your device. The only third-party data activity comes from Google AdMob, which serves ads and may use device identifiers for ad personalization.

1 Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Objection ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"), developed and published by Landon Rowles, handles information in connection with your use of the App on Apple iOS devices.

By downloading and using Objection, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App. This policy applies solely to the Objection iOS application and does not govern any third-party websites or services that may be linked to or referenced within the App.

Objection is a gamified legal education app. It is designed to teach players about legal concepts, courtroom procedures, and argumentation skills in an interactive format. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not establish any attorney-client relationship.

🔒
No Backend Server

Objection has no backend server, database, or cloud infrastructure. All game state, scores, and progress are stored exclusively on your device using Apple's UserDefaults API and are never transmitted externally by the App itself.

3 Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

Objection is free to download and play. To support ongoing development, the App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, a mobile advertising platform operated by Google LLC. AdMob may display banner ads and interstitial (full-screen) ads during your use of the App.

When ads are displayed, Google AdMob may automatically collect certain information from your device, which may include:

This data is collected and processed by Google under their own privacy policies and terms of service, not by Objection or Landon Rowles. We do not receive, access, or store any of the data Google collects for advertising purposes.

Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On iOS 14 and later, Apple requires apps to request your permission before accessing your device's IDFA for personalized advertising. If you decline tracking when prompted, AdMob will serve non-personalized ads. Either way, ads will still appear in the App.

You can learn more about how Google collects and uses data through AdMob by reviewing:

To opt out of personalized advertising by Google across apps and websites, you can visit Google Ad Settings or adjust your iOS privacy settings under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

4 Data Storage & Security

All data generated within Objection — including your progress, unlocked content, and in-app settings — is stored locally on your iOS device using Apple's UserDefaults system. This data:

Because we do not collect or store any personal data on our own infrastructure, the risk of a data breach involving your personal information through Objection is negligible. We nonetheless encourage you to keep your iOS device and operating system up to date as a general security best practice.

5 Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any personal information about you with third parties, because we do not collect any personal information in the first place.

The only third party that may collect data in connection with your use of Objection is Google AdMob, as described in Section 3. That data is governed entirely by Google's privacy policies.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process (such as a court order or government request), but given that we store no personal user data, any such disclosure would not involve information about individual users.

6 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) imposes requirements on operators of websites and online services directed to children under the age of 13 in the United States.

Objection is a legal education app intended for a general audience of users aged 13 and older. The App is not knowingly directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.

Note for Parents and Guardians

If you believe your child under the age of 13 has used Objection and you have concerns about data collected by Google AdMob, please review Google's policies on children's privacy and consider restricting ad tracking on your child's device via iOS Screen Time or Privacy settings. You may also contact us at the address below.

If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us immediately.

7 Your Choices & Rights

Because Objection does not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your request. However, you retain the following controls:

Residents of certain jurisdictions (such as California under the CCPA, or the European Economic Area under the GDPR) may have additional rights with respect to personal information. Because we do not collect personal information, most of these rights are satisfied by default. For advertising-related data collected by Google, please refer to Google's policies and your regional data protection authority.

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features, applicable law, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of Objection after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

For significant changes, we may provide additional notice within the App itself at our discretion.
